Snowflakes to Ashes

This life lays like sand

inside my mouth.

The snowflakes of today

Become the ashes of tomorrow,

Burning through my skin

the nature of impermanence.

The world burns in passing

throes of death

disguised by false illusions.

We feast on dry bones,

and pretend

the marrow is sweet.
