This is my letter of goodbye.
No more shall I lament.
The words and memories we shared,
Are gone and out love's spent.
No, we were never formally,
A couple, not we two.
But that doesn't mean I've not the right,
To say goodbye to you.
It's over now Dear John.
I've been sick over you,
Thinking something's wrong with me,
When the opposite is true.
You're blind if you've forgotten me,
And the promises we made,
Back in the days you were a man,
And your words were true and staid.
Dear John, I know your secrets.
You really aren't that sly.
I've seen your infidelities,
In the weeks that have past by.
And the girl you'll someday marry,
Will forgive you, but don't you see,
That yes, I have forgiven you,
But that girl is not me.
