Moment

Eyes so brilliant and open
My name so soft
Whispered in longing tones
Warming me from the inside out

Floating up so high
Beautiful crystal fantasy
Wanting to lose myself
In this red romance

Through this pink haze
A dark light impedes
A voice of doubt
Banishing away all naivete

What do you see
As your eyes caress
Hair like a flame
Eyes the color of jade

Do you see her
The one who stood before me
Basking in your love
Whom you lavished undying devotion

I am cold where she was fire
I am meek where she was bold
I am endlessly analytical
Where she was brazen to the last

Words I would never speak
But vibrate through my heart
This crown you've given me
I can't help but wonder if its silver

Your eyes would never of fallen
Upon my visage
Had she not tumbled from grace

She and I are two sides of a coin
Each holding the strengths the other lacked
But still that dark voice hisses in my ear
Echoing its damning evidence

But as I stare into your eyes
I feel my doubt ebb to nothing
Its only alone in the darkness
That it can sink its claws

My heart is pounding
And in this stirling moment
With your lips against mine
I throw caution to the wind

Should I fall and crumple in your hand
At least I had this Moment
A brilliant spark in eternity
Burning brighter then any sun

I am yours
For better or for worse
And I know a part of you
Will always be mine

I will pay whatever price
The piper may demand
To stay frozen in this Moment
Basking in our pink haze
