A child crying

Someone who's lying

On pavement that's too damn hot

To touch

Because his payments were just

A little bit too much.

And we tell our children

To reach for the stars

When their parents can barely keep them on solid ground

Can barely keep what's in their heads

Because of all the drugs being

Passed around

And we expect the government to step in

Fix everything so everyone wins

But the government keeps on lying down

And when they get up

They just throw lies around

It takes a village to raise a child

So let's raise this generation right

Let's teach them to fight

Against a government that's taking their rights.
