Title: Waxing and Waning
Warnings: Smut (whoohoo), wee bit of violence, and some angst
AN: Inspiration for this little number came from catching some scenes of Underworld when it was on TV. Vampires and werewolves are just so cool to begin with, but putting them together is awesome to me. So viola.
He stood next to a club now, and the beat of the music seeped through the brick walls like acid, one of which he leant against now. The tempo changed inside the building, becoming faster, just as the beat in his hands grew slower, the body in his arms growing limp.
Niklaus licked his lips, dropping the lifeless body to the ground of the alleyway the two of them occupied. The blood of the human wasn't the tastiest, but Niklaus only killed people unwanted by the world, like the homeless people or criminals. Others of his kind didn't have qualms about killing, but sometimes the blood trail lead the humans to close to their world. But Niklaus was careful, just so he would never have to deal with the Elders.
He slowly walked from the alleyway, wiping away the last of his meal from the corner of his mouth, leaving behind the corpse of the homeless old woman he had drank from. As Niklaus turned the corner, about to leave the alleyway he felt a shiver work its way up his spine. Niklaus had only felt this instinctual reaction when he had met a Werewolf for the first time. Vampires and Werewolves had been at war for hundreds of years, fighting for reasons that only the Elder's knew. In recent decades the fighting had died down and a truce had been called. Both species had equal territories on the planet, major cities split down the middle, with equal feeding opportunities for both cultures. Each city had a kind of neutral territory, where the borders of both species areas overlapped. Through unspoken mutual agreement, members of either species usually avoided the narrow strip of city, because it bred unwanted confrontation.
This is where Niklaus was now. But the idea of being in the neutral territory brought little comfort when he felt the presence of a werewolf right behind him.
Niklaus heard a deep growl, and then the sound of flesh ripping and bones cracking. He looked over his shoulder long enough to see the shadow of a transformed wolf dragging the carcass of the woman Niklaus had just drained deeper into the alleyway, melting into the shadows. Niklaus didn't stay standing for long, he took a deep breath to calm his frailed nerves before going towards the entrance of the club, his reason for being in this area in the first place.
The club, Long Knights, was a human one, targeted toward the gay community. It was loud, crowded and dark, not a Vampire's ideal place. But Niklaus liked it for that very reason. It meant when he was in there it would be extremely unlikely that he would run into others of his own kind, and sometimes Niklaus just needed to get away and immerse himself in another lifestyle. Besides this was also a very safe place to be in regards to werewolves. Because they have a harder time sniffing out prey in such a sweaty, packed place. Out of all the places in this city, Long Knights was probably the safest.
Bypassing the long line stretching down the block from the main entrance, Niklaus slipped a hundred dollar bill into the Bouncer's jacket pocket, as he habitually did to get quick access, before he sank through the beaded strings hanging down in the doorway. He took a moment to check his jacket at a counter and straightening out his clothes as he looked at his reflection in a full length mirror, he still had a few centuries before he lost the ability to see his reflection. Niklaus smoothed down his platinum blonde hair, which was layered and curled around his face at a shoulder length cut. His face, still with a youthful softness, that he won't loose because of when he was turned early in his life, that was complimented by gentle angles and icy blue eyes. His build, petite before he could grow up, was still lanky, and with the dark leather thigh boots, short shorts and skin tight black long sleeved shirt, he was the picture of mystery.
The beat and heat of the place washed over him as he took further steps down the hallway stretching from the main entrance to the dance floor. The shadows were littered with couples in various states of amour, each oblivious to the noise and pomp around them. Niklaus felt a pulse of envy run through his body, but he pushed it aside, walking steadily closer to his destination. The hallway opened up onto the dance floor and bar area, with catwalks above and a hidden Backroom adding more space for patrons to retreat to.
Niklaus smiled as he saw the scene of meshed bodies swaying to the music and he weaved through the pulsating crowd to get to the bar. With his earlier bloodlust sated he could focus on indulging another lust of his body. Ordering a shot of Bourbon to relax his mind in this chaotic place Niklaus turned to the dance floor, searching out his next prey.
But the crowd was slim pickings.
Niklaus didn't get to come to the club often, usually only able to escape his duties every two weeks so this was his only chance for a while to get a little forbidden action. And after a half hour of searching for a potential partner Niklaus was ready to throw in the towel.
And that's when the crowd broke apart long enough for Niklaus to see HIM.
Mr. Tall, Dark and terribly Handsome. Niklaus though, wasn't the only person to notice that new delectable morsel so he moved fast to catch the man's interest before any other pretty boy toy did. And it was there that they met, on the dance floor. A very fateful meeting.
"Wanna dance," Niklaus asked as he sided up to the handsome man, staring into his angled features and deep hazel eyes. His hair was dark, black with peppered flecks that matched his eyes, and a body built impressively. Tan and tall he was ideal, thick legs in blue jeans and a simple white tank-top that showed off his broad shoulders. And on top of it all was a confidence and wisdom in those deep eyes that was more than enough of a turn on for Niklaus.
The man's face barely reacted to his question and after a moment of nothing happening Niklaus started to worry about a rejection. But then a powerful arm snaked across his waist and Niklaus let out a breathless moan when he was pulled against a solid, muscled chest. Face still impassive but eyes alight with emotion, the man leaned down, lips pressed to Niklaus' ear as he murmured in a deep, scratchy voice that had shivers and goosebumps attacking Niklaus' body, "With you Sunshine, always."
Their bodies immediately fell into the fast tempo of the current song, their hips grinding and hands grabbing in rhythm with the sensual bass line. But even as good as the dancing felt, it didn't last long. By the end of the first song his partner had a hand down the back of Niklaus' shorts, gripping his ass cheek hard, midway through the second song Niklaus had a leg hiked up around his partner's waist, and by the start of the third song Niklaus was being kissed so passionately he was ready for a fuck right then and there. But he still had enough sense left to get them to the Backroom, or else they'd have to start charging the bystanders watching their little show.
Niklaus nearly ripped the door to the Backroom off its hinges in his haste, his companion keeping one hand in his shorts while the other groped his crotch from the outside, distracting Niklaus further as he tried to find a stretch of wall they could lean against and have at it. Buried in a corner Niklaus found the perfect spot and he shoved his partner back first against they wall as they strived for a hasty preparation. Niklaus had the strongest urge to stare into this man's face as they fucked so he took an extra moment to pull down his shorts, slipping one leg free to let the clothing dangle from his opposite ankle. His companion was busy pulling his cock free from his jeans and rolling a condom onto it before pulling a little tube of lube out of nowhere and slicking up three fingers.
Niklaus returned to the man's embrace, holding onto his broad shoulders and nipping at the man's neck as he was prepared slowly and tenderly as compared to their earlier haste. He better be careful, because Niklaus might just have to fall in love with this man just by the way he was attentive to Niklaus' needs.
The second Niklaus was loose and eagerly thrusting his body onto his partner's fingers, he was hoisted into his companion's arms before the man turned them so Niklaus' back was up against the wall. He closed his eyes, gearing up for the swift, fast, and unemotional loving that always happened, something only his body enjoyed, but he put up with because it was all he could get.
But it didn't come.
Niklaus opened his eyes in curiosity, staring into the inquisitive eyes of his partner. Unconsciously his body relaxed at the unguarded look, and Niklaus fell more comfortably into the man's hold.
"What's your name," his partner finally asked in a whisper.
Niklaus actually felt a laugh bubble up in his throat but he caught it with a snort, face scrunching up in a smile. "You're asking this now," he said in disbelief, punctuating his point by grinding his ass down onto his partner's rubber covered erection.
"Yeah, well," Niklaus actually saw a tint of embarrassment in the other's hazel eyes. "I kinda wanna know what name I should moan when I cum."
That was probably one of the corniest lines Niklaus had ever heard in his very long life span. And it should have made him pull up his shorts and walk right out of that Backroom. Instead, though, it left him with a strange swooning feeling and the idea that maybe this wasn't going to be as anonymous a fuck and as unemotional a ride as he had expected. Niklaus now had the biggest urge to have sex with this man all night long.
"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," Niklaus retorted, coyly batting his eyelashes as he wrapped his arms snug around the man's shoulders, curling closer to the immense heat his body radiated.
"We make quite the pair," Elias said with a smile, the first expression he had had on his face all night…and it was beautiful.
"Just shut up and fuck me," was all Niklaus could whisper as he stared at that grinning mouth, wanting to capture that joy all for himself.
Niklaus got his wish as Elias kissed him, their smiles coming together and meshing. The head of Elias' cock nudged his entrance before popping through a heart beat later, the following slide of his partner's erection inside was long and slow, and Elias kept kissing Niklaus until the initial burning stretch subsided. Elias moved slow, just gentle rocks of his hips as Niklaus adjusted to the impressive size of his dick. Niklaus never wanted this moment to end.
Their loving was slow and sensual, a lasting tingle of pleasure as they rocked their bodies together. They continued to kiss, deep and gratifying kisses that muffled their moans and sighs of rapture. Around them in the Backroom other couples and groups were fucking hard and fast, searching for a quick release before going to find another conquest. But that was not the case for Elias and Niklaus. No their moment together was about feeling, it was about a connection that a quick bout of sex couldn't convey.
Niklaus tightened his legs around Elias' waist as his prostate was stroked, bubbles of pleasure floating around his groin and then flowing through his body, leaving tingles in their wake. Their kiss had broken and Elias had his face buried in Niklaus' neck, panting out sinful but loving words as he gnawed at Niklaus' throat. Niklaus had his head tossed back, mouth open wide in pleasure as his partner's cock dragged in and out of his body, touching him more intimately than any man before.
The end was coming and it had Niklaus clinging tight to Elias, voice rising in pitch as his orgasm brewed hot and tight in his belly, making his muscles tense and his eyes shut tight. He called Elias' name as he came, drawing out the 's' as his cum spurted from his cock trapped between their taunt stomachs. Elias was not far behind, the thrusts of his hips becoming erratic as the pleasure built.
His name fell from those chapped but plump lips in a breathless whisper and Niklaus groaned as Elias shuddered hard, hips stilling as his orgasm rushed through his large body. Niklaus gasped as they slid down the wall, Elias pleasure weakened legs unable to hold up their weight any longer. He slowly stroked his hands up and down his partner's back, a soft smile on his face as his limbs tingled in pleasure.
"Holy hell," Niklaus whispered, nuzzling his face into Elias' dark hair. "That was fantastic."
"You can say that again," Elias murmured against his throat, kissing the bruise he had left there.
Elias pulled back just enough so Niklaus could see the lazy smile on his face. The expression disappeared after a while when they both took notice that they had an audience. Elias' face was closed off once more as he disentangled their bodies, tying off the bottom of the condom before throwing it away. Niklaus took the time to straighten his clothes, watching as Elias flattened his expression once more. But Niklaus smiled, he was learning that that was just the way Elias was. He grabbed Elias' arm though when the man made to leave, not wanting their time to be over just yet.
"Wanna get outta here," he asked softly, stepping closer so their bodies were in contact once more.
A little smile crept back onto Elias' face for a moment and then it disappeared. The taller man took a hold of one of Niklaus' hands, leading him from the Backroom. It was the best answer Niklaus could have received.
Niklaus had never quite been in a situation like this, but he found that if it was with Elias it was perfect. It should have been cheesy, walking hand in hand down a moonlit path in the large park in the middle of the city.
But it turned out to be so romantic.
They came to a bridge, a simple one overlooking one of the little lakes in the park. Niklaus went straight for the railing, leaning over the side to watch the way the light evening breeze dances over the surface of the dark water. They had been talking quietly as they walked, discussing rather unimportant things, but it turned out to be one of Niklaus' favorite conversations of his life. Elias was intelligent and opinionated, but also very empathetic and understanding. Niklaus just couldn't seem to get enough of him. It was dangerous, falling for someone not of his species, but he just couldn't help himself. Elias was just so ideal.
Elias was talking quietly now, sitting on a bench where Niklaus looked over the railing on the bridge. The direction of the wind changed, blowing in Niklaus' face and he closed his eyes, leaning his head back to take a deep breath of the scent of nature that was carried on the wind. But the serene moment was lost when Elias abruptly stopped talking, and Niklaus didn't want that since the man's voice was so comforting and soothing. Niklaus turned around, smiling at the man, tilting his head to the side.
"What wrong? Why did you stop talking," he asked softly, smile slowly falling from his face as Elias looked at him.
The man slowly stood up, looking at Niklaus with such a conflicted looking expression, looking sad and frustrated all at once. "You're a Vampire," Elias finally said bluntly.
Niklaus actually gasped at the statement, instead of trying to play off the accusation as false, giving away the truth. That he was indeed a Vampire. "Wha…how did you…"
"The wind changed and I could finally smell your scent properly. It was impossible to tell in the club."
He stared at Elias, flabbergasted, face taking on a pained look as realization dawned. There was only one species that could distinguish the scent of a Vampire from a human.
"You're a Werewolf," he said sadly, looking away from Elias and leaning against the railing heavily, disappointment weighing heavily on his mind.
It was over, even before it could properly begin. If Elias had been human it would have been one thing, but because he was a Werewolf it was impossible for any kind of relationship between them. Even if they fell in love, it would be too dangerous. It could never hope to work.
Elias walked over to Niklaus after several moments of tense silence, reaching out and holding his shoulders gently. Niklaus looked up, blinking away tears, staring hard at Elias' glittering eyes. The Werewolf leaned down, kissing Niklaus' lips gently, the touch lingering and soft.
Niklaus wanted to say 'don't go' or 'we can make this work' or even 'I love you.' But the words wouldn't come, he couldn't say them. He didn't have the strength or the right to say anything like that. All he could do was watch as Elias walked away, going toward the part of the city designated as the Werewolves' territory. He waited until the Werewolf was out of sight before he too turned and walked away, fading into the shadows, as was his nature.
Two weeks later Niklaus entered Long Knights reluctantly. He expected to stay only for a moment before it became too hard to be there. It brought back too many powerful memories.
Niklaus was just tossing back a shot of whiskey when he saw Elias, standing on the other side of the floor, watching him with glittering, heated grey eyes. He should have left right then and there, it couldn't happen. But instead they walked towards one another, meeting in the middle and falling into a sinful rhythm of dancing.
And thus they gave into the forbidden, come what may.
AN: Review, review, review please.
This one might be expanded on more. Maybe even made into a full story. Not right now, but certainly in the future. I like the idea of werewolves and vampires. Add a little smut and I'm a happy camper.
For now this is it.
I hope you enjoyed it.
