My poem for our project in my sign language class. It was okay, but I got a good grade anyway.

Crickets chirping,

The rolling sea.

Whispers of the wind,

They're all lost to me.

People fighting,

While mother's crying,

The fear in people's eyes,

At least I can still see.

Learn to talk again,

Make up your mind

I want to use my hands.

Why can't I decide?

I'm an outcast,

I still belong.

Even more fighting

What went so wrong?

Taken for granted,

It doesn't seem real.

Leave me alone.

You can't understand how I feel.

Deaf.

A culture

A disability

A lifestyle

And now me.
