Take off that outer shell

To find what's underneath.

Locate the absence of the girl

Who fled to layers 'neath.

She's not lost

Nor is she found;

MIA

For all forseen purposes.

Take off the mask

While tears do flow;

Inciting feelings

Of what boils below.

Clammy hands

And swollen feet;

Bleeding

Hearts that are bound.

In love, in hate

In bonds and shame,

In hopes and dreams and skies.

In hurtful words

And hopeful thoughts

Contained amidst truths and lies.

Unwound within a tiny box;

Pandora's secret finds.
