Bloody Angel

Everything happened too fast

It shouldn't of ended this way

Her eyes looked so cold

Not one sign of life left as I closed them

Her lips looked so blue

Dark as the ocean on a stormy night

Her skin was so pale, so cold

It was like touching pure snow

I held her tighter

Ignoring the harsh truth

I smelled the bittersweet scent of blood

I tasted the metallic substance as we shared our last kiss

Just before life escaped her eyes

Before the last words flowed through her lips

Before her last smile that still remained on her face

I stared at her one last time

Examining her as life started to escape me as well

Her expression looked so peaceful, so innocent

As reality struck, my tears flowed freely

Every drop falling onto her beautiful face

Mixing with the blood that remained

I moved closer and kissed her one last time

The taste and scent of blood was intoxicating

As I lay beside her with her in my arms

I felt the toll of eternal sleep coming closer

As I closed my eyes slowly

My final words escaped

"Rest in peace, my beautiful bloody angel. Our love is eternal"

Everything happened too fast

But love makes you do crazy things

Even if it means risking your life in the end
