Will The Drama Ever End
Chapter One
Where is she?
What could be more important than me?
What if someone kidnapped her, wait... wouldn't she be womannapped since she's not a kid. What if she was locked in a closet? Maybe who ever did this disguised themselves as her and is planning to take me too. They're going to teennap me!
Yeah I sort of tend to say babble nonsense when I'm bored.
Why wouldn't I be since I was waiting for god knows how many hours. My Aunt who was supposed to pick me up was nowhere in sight.
Let's get one thing straight…I am far from patient and she is not helping the situation. Of course I didn't even want to be here in the first place.
I despised places like these with a passion. Everything about this town was fake. The people here are the worst, they act as if they own the world and compete to show off their money. You might be thinking what place I'm talking about right? No? Well I'm going to tell you anyway.
California, not Hollywood though or those big cities where the rich and famous live. Nope, on the other side where a not-so-tiny town is. A not-so-tiny rich town.
I had to move in with my aunt and her husband, who let's say, were not on my grandma's good side. What else can I say; my dear aunt fell in love and ditched our family. For a man. How...typical. I was forced to come here seeing as I am underage and can't live by myself. Now you might be asking, why would I have to live by myself?
Well my parents died when I was around ten, it's been seven years since then. I'm over it. Sort of. After their death I moved in with my grandmother but she started to lose her memory and I couldn't stay with her. Just to let you know I hate pity, so none for me please. I'm a big girl and I've dealt with it.
Any who, I had the choice to either live with my Dad's parents in Ireland or with my mom's only other family, her sister. My aunt. Who again lives in this town… in California.
Isn't it obvious which one I chose.
So that's how I ended up here impatiently waiting for an aunt I had only met once before. Then again it wasn't such a pleasant visit seeing as my grandmother kicked her out of the house shouting about how she never wanted to see my aunt again. Grandma was still holding a grudge over the fact that my aunt just up and left with her man.
I don't really care what happened Aunt was just young and naive like most of us. Besides it's none of my business, I wasn't even born at the time.
I looked around seeing if my aunt was anywhere to be found.
Nope.
...
Oh god I'm bored.
Maybe I have time… to escape… maybe I can run off to a near by forest …. I could survive like those people in the movies you know eating bugs and stuff.
Then again bugs are disgusting, so I'll just have to hunt down animals and cook them….
I noticed I was starting to pace which proved just how serious I was about my plan to escape.
Yeah, this is what boredness causes.
I stopped with the pacing and searched through one of the bags next to my suitcase. I needed something sweet and I always had chocolate somewhere.
Well, chocolates... I have a small case of chocolate obsession. I just can't stop.
Just before I was about to eat it someone just took it.
Yeah, some random starnger came and snatched it out of my hands.
A crazy person came and stole my chocolate!
What. The. Hell. How many times in a lifetime does that happen?
I got over my shocked state and then felt anger. Anger that someone would dare do that!
Who was the fool who took my chocolate? No one ever comes between me and chocolate! I was probably overreacting but sweets are very important to me.
When said person took my chocolate I had looked at them. Why wouldn't I? My eyes quickly caught the person and I don't know what was going on in my head but I chased them.
The boy was running away. Why would some stranger just take candy from an innocent girl? What sane person does that? Then again what sane person runs after them? None. A sane person would have thought "Creep" and called for help or something. I did the complete opposite of that, I wanted to take that boy down!
After losing sight of him for awhile, I saw him again walking down the escalator, probably not expecting me to come after him. Stupid… naive, little sucker.
Like I said, Who in their right mind steals chocolate from a random girl? Is that some kind of new way to flirt or get a girl to talk to you?
I could see the back of his head. Messy, jet black hair reaching right above his ears and not a bad looking back at all. Broad shoulders, nice arms, lean yet muscular, and a walk filled with confidence. Or is it called arrogance.
Bet he has a pretty little face to go with that. When I'm done with him that face is going to be terribly deformed.
Only thinking with the insane section of my brain, I pushed him when I was certain he wouldn't get hurt enough to sue me.
He had stumbled forward after sort of noticing me before I pushed him. This caused the great push to not be oh-so-successful.
It was sort of worth it seeing him trying to keep on his feet, though. He really showed off his dance moves. I named them. He did "The bird" which was him flapping his arms probably hoping to grab and hold on to something. The freaky toes, which was him desperately finding the right place to land his feet. Let's just say the poor boy didn't make it. No, he didn't die, sadly, but he did fall on his face.
He stood up in a rush and turned fully around to face me soon after. I was ready to unleash my wrath on him, but got a little distracted by his looks.
And mind you that never happens. Never.
I wasn't one to care what a guy looks like I might say they're cute or that they look good but I am never caught off guard. This guy was just too good looking though.
I was right he did have a pretty little face but it wasn't it deformed. Sigh.
His eyes though, were a really nice color. Shockingly intense Sapphire blue eyes.
He was tall too and you could tell he did some sport by the very nice body he owned. Not bulging huge muscles either because those are seriously disgusting. Like I said a very lean yet had muscles here and there that gave him a nice figure. He skin was a light tan. Thank god he was not an orange. But he was definitely the hottest I have seen in my life so far. Personality must be super not hot then. It never is.
The guy glared at me but you could see a hint of amusement clear in his eyes.
"What the hell. Why'd you push me for, I don't even know you."
"You stole my chocolate! You… chocolate-napper."
Seriously... I have got to stop with this napping. And that comeback was really bad even for me.
"I have no clue what you're talking about, but you should really apologize." Note the arrogance in his voice. He probably was used to people worshiping him, just like everyone else in this darn town.
"Apologize my ass! Never!" I shouted probably earning some looks.
Who the hell is laughing!
I swiveled on my feet to see some guy with dark hair. He was cute but not as attractice as the other boy. This guy was just simply cute. He had caramel brown eyes. Still not as pretty as the other guys'. He was dressed like a typical rich boy. Then I saw the chocolate in his hand. He must've noticed what I saw because he took a bite of it in what I think was supposed to be a sexy way.
So he was the one...so the other guy was ...not.
I turned back around, about to apologize to the other guy but he was gone. And he had pretty eyes...
Okkaaayy my mind is out of it.
Then I turned back to the real culprit but he as soon as my eyes met his he winked and strode away. Laughing. How dare he just leave without apologizing. I shouted after him "Get back here you hooligan!"
I saw him throw his head back and laugh even louder. What. The. Hell.
What was up with him? Some Psycho maybe, considering the fact he came out of nowhere taking my chocolate and eating it. Then the other guy who I pushed from accident. He must hate me, or was hatefully amused by all of this. Guess, I did owe him an apology. Well its not like I'll ever see him again.
Walking back to the spot I was at before- where my aunt would pick me up- I noticed a little girl.
I also noticed my things were gone, instead the little red-headed girl was there. She seemed around eleven years old. She was pretty adorable, her hair was tied back into a bun which seemed to be done by a professional, she had bright brown eyes, and the pinkest, fluffiest outfit ever.
"Hey have you seen my things? I left them here" Thank god my name was on everything.
She studied me from head to toe, staring for while at my outfit.
"You must be Destiny, my cousin. Hi I'm Natalie. You're pretty I expected you to be …. Mom took your things, they told me to wait and I'm bored, so can we go." She gave me a obviously fake smile.
Natalie, who I had just learned was my cousin, was looking at me with a not so friendly expression. Typical. She hated me already. What about the whole 'Don't judge a book by its cover'
Well that's one enemy made and I didn't have to do anything.
I didn't say anything as I nodded and I followed her while she led me to their car.
I wanna go home I wanna go home I wanna go ho…Holy Dog Shit! That's no car; they got a limo to pick me up!
I didn't want to seem like some poor girl who has never seen nor ridden on a limo so I tried my best to keep calm. The blonde driver opened his door and came out; he seemed young probably in his mid-twenties.
I couldn't help but notice how cute he was. I thought most drivers were old and unfriendly. No offense to any limo drivers out there.
He had short blonde hair and steel gray eyes, I wondered why she would ever hire that kinda guy to drive her around unless she had other things in mind.
Gah! My mind has some issues.
He opened my aunt's door. She should have been able to open it herself, she obviously owned arms and hands.
See rich people just have to have people do things for them.
She came out, smiled brightly, and hugged me like there was no tomorrow. When she finally let go I took a good look at her. She probably got surgery because she didn't look a day older than the last time I saw her which was about eight years ago.
The same fiery red hair, the same brown cold eyes that contradicted her wide grin.
"I missed you so much darling,"
"Ye-" I didn't get to finish my sentence right away she interrupted me.
"You've grown so much you look just like your mother. She used to be so beautiful, I'm sure you are as popular as she was. Everyone just loved her so much." Popular? Sure...keep thinking that.
"I guess ... uh ... and I missed you too auntie… so… how big is your house?" I said trying to change the conversation. I had never liked to speak about my mom, especially in past tense.
"I have waited a long while for you young lady," Betcha' I was waiting longer. "Come let's go so you can unpack and get out of …that." She looked down at my clothes as if they held a disease.
Natalie smirked. I didn't know eleven year olds could smirk.
I couldn't help but look down at my outfit. I was wearing a white sweater, my dark skinny jeans, and my worn out converse.
I didn't see nothing wrong with it, I looked normal.
I flashed my most angelic smile as she pretty much shoved me into the limo.
I tried to ignore that.
I hated being left to my thoughts, speaking was better, it left less space for memories.
I stared out the window and soon enough I was thinking about how I even got to this place. The reason I couldn't stay with my grandmother.
I woke up dazed after the party last night. I could smell breakfast from downstairs, yum! I took a fast shower, and got dressed eagerly knowing my grandma was making her famous pancakes. I rushed down the stairs with a big grin on my face. When I got to the kitchen saw my grandma next to the stove her back turned to me. "Good morning gran." She turned to look at me a frown coming to her face. "What's wrong?" I asked her. "Lynn, how did you get here? When? I thought you were… dead." I flinched at the last word I was never able to say it. It had been four years since they had… umm… left. I've always felt like it was my fault. Maybe if I hadn't… "Lynn are you okay I'm glad to see you it's been hard I've missed you." I snapped out of it surprised… did she just call me Lynn? That was my mother's name. I was so shocked she knew my name she couldn't have made a mistake she never called me Lynn I was always Desi to her. "Gran are you okay it's Desi maybe we should take you to your doctor." "Desi? I'm sorry I don't know anyone by that name, Lynn." All of a sudden I felt frightened I couldn't understand what was going on. "Gran I don't know what's wrong let's take you to the hospital." "Lynn I'm fine" "No you're not" I was crying now. I pulled her out the house and into my car. I drove her all the way to the hospital. There the doctor took her while I waited outside. He finally came out and told me news I really didn't want to hear.
That day was the worst, he explained that my Grandma was loosing her memory and that it wasn't safe for me to live with her. After I had finally calmed down I went in to see my Grandma but she still couldn't remember me and that just caused more tears on my part. Later that day the doctor told me that she would be transferred to a retirement home. And that's how I got here. In this snobby town filled with the rich and spoiled. It was either here in California- within the united states- or Ireland, where most of my father's family is.
I'm not Irish its just that family has a thing for moving around the world. And I wouldn't want to be 'The new girl' a million times.
Most of my family is rich unlike my parents who didn't want that, they just wanted a happy peaceful life. Their words not mine. They didn't get to finish that peaceful life, n-
"Honey we're here. Andrew please help her get her stuff upstairs." She interrupted my thoughts which for I was grateful. I pushed the feelings away and concentrated on the door a little too much.
Andrew, the driver, nodded and walked around the car to open the car door I was focusing so hard on. When I finally stepped out I let my gaze drop on the mansion.
It was… big. There were more words to describe it but my sleepy mind just set on that one. There was a long wide stone path leading to it, rose bushes on the front lawn cut into different animals and shapes. Trees and large bushes with varities of flowers seperated it from the neighboring mansions. An exquisite porch circled around the mansion. It all lead to the entrance.
Whoa. What a fancy door...
The door was tall as if someone would ever reach that height. When we entered the thought that I was going to be living in a mansion came crashing back down on me.
I'm going to be living in a mansion!
"Darling, I'll show you around so you don't get lost." My aunt guided me around the whole house smiling at every "Whoa" that slipped out of my mouth.
First thing that caught my eyes was the large ballroom, which lead to grand stairs, there was also a bright golden chandelier hanging from the high ceiling, which seemed to have some sort of artwork. The ballroom's floor had some sort of pattern all in gold and marble white. A couple of Pillars surrounded it all.
-Cue another Whoa-
I really am to lazy to describe the rest of the mansion. But let's just say you could easily get lost. Downstairs there is the ballroom obviously, two large living rooms, a formal dining room, a theatre room, a main kitchen and the largest bathrrom I've ever seen. On the second floor there's two more smaller versions of the main living rooms(not that small though), and many bedrooms and guestrooms with their own bathrooms. The top floor has another theatre room, an arcade room, a gameroom, dance studio, recording studio, and some chilling/resting also own an inside pool, an outside pool, a tennis court, basketball court, soccer and baseball field.
I will definitely be swimming in that pool. Wait...I can't swim. I shall drown then!
After showing me around the mansion, my aunt led me to the ballroom.
"Thomas! Katherine! Come down here to meet your cousin." My aunt shouted.
A boy and a girl came running down the grand stairs.
They both didn't look anything like my aunt other than the sky blue eyes and her thin narrow nose. They didn't share her fiery red hair that instead Natalie received. Nope, they both had brown hair. The boy, which was obviously Thomas, was slightly less tan than Katherine. He was tall with a brilliant smile that for some reason reminded me of sunshine. He was male-model material, totally gorgeous. Messy hair, obviously worked out, and was currently in his pajamas. Katherine was a bit shorter than him, pretty and model-like skinny. She seemed to have just rolled out of bed, too.
"Hey Mom." Katherine said then turned to me "You must me Destiny, I'm Katherine just call me Kat the older cutest cousin you've ever seen." She joked then shook my hand.
"And I'm Thomas you're much, much, much cuter cousin." He grinned at Kat and also shook my hand. Kat punched his arm lightly and muttered, "I'm cuter."
"Nice to meet you guys. And neither of you are cuter, I am. No offense." Thomas was about to resply but his mom cut him off.
"Katherine show Destiny her room." She said then turned to me. "It's good to have you here darling." She smiled and walked away.
"Kay, come on Destiny...Can I call you Desi? It sounds cute. Totally you." I followed her up the stairs but flinched when I heard the nickname. My dad had been the only one to ever call me that. Everyone in my old town knew why they couldn't to call me that. Here no one knew, so the nickname could be picked up.
Instantly I felt a pang of sadness, but pushed it to the back of my mind.
"Uh… are you okay?" Kat asked giving me a worried look. I nodded then took a deep breath.
"Kat … sure you can call me Desi." I forced a smile which she believed and smiled back. Then she continued to lead me towards my new room.
When we got to my new bedroom, my mouth fell open.
"Big room." were the only words that came out.
Kat laughed. "Yeah it is." "They brought your things up, do you want to unpack it yourself because I could get one of the servants to do it, if you want."
"Nah, I'll do it myself." I said walking over to my stuff.
"Kay then, my room is next door so just get me if you need anything." She said walking out and shutting my door but not before grinning at me one last time.
I didn't feel like unpacking at that very moment, I was still too shocked about how everything was turning out. I was in now in a super rich town, moving into a mansion, and probably starting classes in a new school. And it was only me, no siblings to be there for me. It felt like only an hour ago since I cried for my grandma, but now I was done crying. I'll get used to this place and maybe do some damage.
Though there are people I will miss from my old town, like my friends for example.
I wonder what they're doing right now, the goodbyes weren't so great. Specially with...
I stuffed my hand in my sweaters pocket, pulling out my black and blue phone, my friends had told me to call them when I got to my new home, but at the moment all I wanted was to forget and relax. I shut it off and threw it in the small drawer next to my bed. I sat down observing my new room.
It was huge. Like one of those golden rooms where rich people in movies always sleep. A closet where there are a million shoes and dresses. Massive bed with those fancy-looking curtains. You know what I'm talking about. Long windows running down the walls from the high ceiling. A cute balcony and a changing room. And no TV. There are only TV's in the resting/chilling room, arcade room, the game room, and the two living rooms on this second floor. Though they do have a theatre so that could work.
Now I can watch my shows! I always need my daily Drama fix! Those soap operas need me! Poor Miguel who can't choose the right girl to spend his life with... He needs to choose one already! Before he dies! All because of cancer! Damn you cancer!
No just kidding I don't watch that stuff. It's not healthy. I used to though and I was obsessed.
Okkkaaayyy I'm bored.
I decide to unpack my clothes because that was healthy instead of doing the other stuff I had in mind to get rid of my bored-ness.
After everything was in its rightful place. I slumped down onto my bed.
I felt tired after the long day, and decide it was a perfect time for a nap. I got my I-pod out of my pocket, plugged the earphones in my ear and pressed the play button. I always fell asleep much faster listening to music. Loud music is always peaceful in my opinion.
I fell asleep that way with final thoughts of my parents... my grandmother... crazy Aunt... psycho cousin... chocolate... and escalators.
