Dressing in poka dots and smiles
A pledge on a rain
day to bring the color the
sky hides to my friends.

Look what the cat dragged in
Skin wet and chill.
Hair soaked, hanging.
Shoulders slumped.
Pretty dress, its intentions crumpled.

like hot liquid it warms
through and through.
