Have we been blinded you and I
Have I stopped to breathe I and you
Have the multitude of spectacles
Looked up in to the mirror
---
What is this vast ground of the endless mind
The waves of the ocean bouncing back from you
The rocky cliffs called reason and logic
The deathly riddle like a serpent writhing
---
Have I gone over to a different alliance?
Adjacent to your cell but far away in your space
The way you see through your eyes
Cryptic as the Egyptian sphinx
---
what inner journey and inner unrest
pursues you like a hounded man
never to rest in the arms of an oasis
nor lay your head next to mine
---
have we shared a time you and I
have I just lived an illusion I and you
has the laughter merely echoed
in the giant unknowns of our time
