My Heart To Heal

What was first place back then

is now just second place.

What you thought would last a lifetime

became nothing more than a phase.

Old faces become replaced with new

as people move on and forget.

Those happy times we used to know

fade to the past bit by bit.

Love dies away

leaving you to move along,

to wake up and face the changes

as life keeps moving on.

Helpless, crushed and afraid,

I stumble through the days

trying to break through

this depressing haze.

Please someone please help my soul

to bear the pain I feel,

as I try to go on, to live

hoping for my heart to heal.
