Lady: Quit trying to take my purse, you brigand! I'll have to call the police!
Thief: The police don't have carte blanche, though.
Lady: Don't be so contemptuous!
Thief: Are you trying to start a donnybrook?
Lady: Not without an incantation.
Thief: Would you know the correct nomenclature?
Lady: Yes.
Thief: You don't have to be so nonchalant.
Lady: Witnesses are rife, so I could go to the police about you stealing my purse.
Thief: The jail is so stygian, though.
Lady: That is a vestige of older jails.
