| Nothingness
Author: the.silence167 Wrote it in class a year ago or so. I find poems much easier to drabble on or short scenes, though I think I'm pretty bad at long things. Review please.

Tick tock, tick tock.
I'm a child in the street.
Spinning in circles, laughing,
Ignoring my chosen seat.
Tick tock, tick tock.
I'm older, my life drifts by.
I see no point, no reason.
Why do I bother to try?
Tick tock, tick tock.
I watch my best friend die.
No tears fall. My heart darkens.
Blue to black in a sigh.
Tick tock, tick tock.
Put me in a mold.
I put myself on auction.
My soul never sold.
Tick tock, tick tock.
Life's end I don't fear.
I'm doing well in the world.
Nothingness everywhere I steer.
Tick tock, tick tock.
People come and go.
I stand here forever numb.
My heart: cold as snow.
Tick tock, tick tock.
Work is all I know.
There's got to be something more.
What have I to show?
Tick tock, tick tock.
I watch myself do things.
Feeling like a third person,
I'm a puppet with strings.
Tick tock, tick tock.
The world seems still.
A lot happens; nothing changes,
Despite my every will.
Tick tock, tick tock.
I still find no meaning.
No purpose, no point,
Nothing worth scheming.
Tick tock, tick tock.
I say my last words;
"Why do we live?"
Life's ways are absurd.
