Inner war
Prologue
The future wasn't what I expected. Whoever is reading this, I'm about to talk about our future, which was ultimately my past. This is a warning to those who plan on rebelling against the Government. I must ask you all to never even think of doing such a thing. I was twenty when things started going downhill for everyone. Citizens began rebelling against the Government, causing chaos and madness wherever they went. Pretty soon, every major Government united, creating the Worldwide Empire. A powerful organisation with the latest technological advancements. Most of the citizens joined the rebellion. Their technology was nothing compared to the Government. The rebellion was simply a large gang with scrap yards and abandoned factories for homes. Cities and houses had been completely destroyed. Those still standing became battlegrounds and warzones.
The rebellion held well against the Empire, but several years later, they were down to a measly few thousand. All the rest had been killed by the Empire's army, who used to be the military fighting for their country, fighting for the people they now considered enemies. Families were separated due to husbands or wives of military soldiers disagreeing with the other's beliefs. Children were forced to choose which side they would take in the war and eventually end up killing their brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers.
The rebellion had difficulty trying to organise ambushes with citizens from other countries due to the lack of translators. There were few rebels who spoke similar languages. Some changed sides from the rebellion to the Government, and vice-versa, wanting to be with their families again. The few of us who didn't take sides took shelter beneath bridges or in parks. We were the homeless ones from before the war. No-one remembers how the war started, or who started it.
This all may seem farfetched to you, but I assure you, this will happen in twenty years from now. Earth will become the home to the third world war, all because of you. Let me tell you what happened to me.
