"I am in love," Cordelia insisted angrily. Alan looked at her with confusion.

"I love you, too." Alan whispered. Cordelia pressed her lips together,

"I'm just not in love with you." Alan's face melted into pure pain. He shook his head stubbornly refusing to accept that the love of his life was in love with someone else. He grabbed the railing for support the mahogany felt sticky under his sweaty palms. He gasped for air.

"Who?" He whispered hoarsely.

"James Clark." Cordelia replied quietly turning away from her friend's pained face.
