The worn leather seats
The smell of the gasoline
Pumping into the huge tanks
Fueling America with every gallon
Hardened men
Ruddy faces, salt-and-pepper beards
Baseball caps, New York and LA
Faded denim jackets
Ash trays filled with Marlboro butts
Pictures of wives and kids
Stuck to sun-visors
Billowing in the breeze
A hundred miles behind
And a thousand miles to go
But it's okay, it's what they need
Just another week
Another paycheck
Another load
