When the World Burns
The moment the world burns:
When the sun explodes
In shards of crystal fire,
When the oceans boil
And the lands split into gaping holes,
When the volcanoes awaken
And the hell below is revealed,
When magma burst forth
And scorches your feet
When you cry out to your God
And pray for respite
When you cry and scream
And your faith is shattered
When you see yourself as deserted
And you curse your Maker's name
I will watch and laugh
As I am burnt in an eternal flame
I have no God to feel betrayed by
I have no torturous morals to break
And I will have no regrets:
I will have sinned
I will have inspired
I will have persevered
And I will have died.
But I will have lived first.
