I love you baby, I do. It's just that I know it won't last forever and my eyes are blinkered. Forward, forward, that's all I can see.

He's handed me his heart

And it's fragile in my hands;

Should I twist

Just to feel my power?

But his tears burn.

They would burn right through my smile,

And his candied kisses –

Oh, I love that they're mine.

He's wrestled with some angel

And ripped off her silver wings

From between my shoulder blades they flutter

Their glow gone slightly dim.

Beautiful boy, why did you teach me to fly?

The starlight makes me mighty

I could crush you easily

Between my tender, icy fingers.

Steal back the wings, my love,

Stroke fire onto this cold skin

Shove me into a little cage

Shatter this cruel goddess dream.
