Fleas! Fleas! Fleas!
I know one thing dearest cat,
That when I'm searching for a gnat
Among your fur, it seems to me
That all I find is just a flea.
Fleas! Fleas! Fleas!
There's so many in your tangled hair
It really drives me to despair
And you never seem to care.
Consider cat!- I try and try
'Till I really feel I'd like to cry,
And you are just a-lyin there
Giving me your baleful stare
While your coat is crawling so with fleas
And I'm kneeling there upon my knees.
And then when I'm kneeling on my knee
Searching for that dratted flea
You start to act so dreadfully.
You claw and bite to give me pain
-And then you treat me with disdain.
Walking away with your tail in the air
Showing how much you do not care.
I really think it the cruellest thing
That though you regard yourself a king
You should treat me so meanly
And should behave so unseemly.
