Hush little baby,
Don't mind my fingers
As they smudge black the innocence
And rub it round your eyes.
Hush little baby,
I know your legs are wobbling
Because I've strapped on stilettos
And your kiddy feet can't walk.
Hush little baby,
Let him bite your pretty neck
And leave those purple marks
For all the world to see.
Hush little baby,
Even when they stare
With those dirty dirty eyes
That want to strip you bare.
(It's only make-believe,
I'm playing in her shadow
Where I can hide
My little baby's smile.
And she's chained up my tongue,
Forbidden my tears;
She's scared, so scared
That you'll find me beneath her.)
See the black, dirty shadow I am chained beneath?
