Can't breathe this real oxygen,
Can't walk but on a pathway of paper
Need a pen to speak my words
Left my tongue in some other world.
Death by velvet paradise
Dreams left unbroken
And now I'm dying because
I never learnt to survive.
Flick a knife across my skin
Then watch my veins bleed blackest ink
Failed to paint pictures with paint
And an artist's hunger must be sated.
Castles just across the sky
Living where the princes dance
My silken slippers weren't sewn for dirt
You soiled these streets, now let me dream.
