I said hello to my old friend

Looked in the mirror

It was me again

While the current me waved goodbye

And my old friend knew the reason why

My heart's been hurt

My heart's been betrayed

By the cruel promises of life

And it's wasting away

So the current me must say so long

And I'll welcome my old friend who's been gone

Only to realize that old friend is me
