Brother from another mother.

Ava was taken into the Court household when her best friend saw she was homeless. So what happens when two years later the Courts long lost, rich, handsome son turns up on the doorstep not only hiding a secret from the family but coursing trouble for Ava herself.

Chapter One.

So you know most families that lived together you know the typical, mom, dad and brothers and sisters and the dog to go with. Well yeah, my family wasn't exactly like that. That's if they were even classed as family.

You see it was about two years ago now that I moved in with the Courts. They took me in after my parents abanded me in my house on my own, thankfully at the time my best friend Kaycee was their for me and took me in to her family. They welcomed me with open arms and it was great, they were the closest thing to the family. There was Jim Court the father of the household, ran his own hotels, which of course made him loaded. Streaking black hair and aqua blue eyes. Then their was Kimberly a.k.a Kim the mother of the house. Super blonde hair with a few brown highlights put through. She had her own hair salon which she normally spent most of her time at, unless it was to do with family meetings or family time then she definitely came home never missing out.

You had little Tyler who was eight years old, bright baby blue eyes and black hair. He was going to be a stud when he was older if he ever learnt how to speak to anyone, he had a problem with speaking to many people, and his nickname was mute.

Then you had their younger little sister Abigail who was two years old, like Tyler she carried the black hair on but held green eyes from her mother. She was born when I had just moved into the house; she was possibly one of the happiest little babies I had ever seen.

Then you had Kaycee who had been my best friend since I had started high school. Which was four years ago. She was the complete opposite of me, bubbly, joyful, and very flirty. She expressed life to the fullest always out. I never went with her, I was quite happy with a book in bed, but she would sure come in the room at four in the morning to tell me how her night had been. She had dark green eyes. Her naturally hair was jet black like the other Courts too, but having a mother for a hairdresser she seemed to have her hair bleached blond every week. Never a natural root coming back in place.

They also had an older son who was twenty-two, but he didn't live at home, hadn't for a few years, I had never met him before. Nevertheless, that was the family and it was anything but normal, there were way more staff then needed and way more pets then needed. Tyler had a pet snake, which he had to keep in his room at all times. It was a crazy household. I remember the first day I came into the house, so scared wondering what would happen.

Two years earlier…

"Come on Ava, it's going to be okay, your going to be safe here,'' Kaycee said opening the door to her eight bed roomed house, which was four times as big as my old one. So big, so pretty and clean, the floors squeaky clean and shiny.

"I can't Kay I feel like I'm trespassing,'' I whimpered, crying at the fact my life had been ruined, my family didn't want me, ran off together, and left me with no money, no food, all but a letter saying sorry. They had done it because we were broke and they owed a lot of people money, it was bound to happen or they were going to go to prison, yet they could of took me with them.

"Who's trespassing,'' spoke a soft voice from inside the house. It was then that a blonde haired woman popped up to the door her belly pretty big from her being pregnant.

"Mom you remember my friend Ava. She's been over here once. And well you see her mom and dad have left her mom, they've done a runner. Leaving no food, nothing and she cant just live on her own they will put her in a foster care and you know what their like,'' Kaycee rambled on, talking quick as she always did when she was nervous.

"And you want me to let her stay here?'' Her mother pouted her newly botoxed lips done.

"Well I was hoping, at least for a while,'' she pleaded.

"For a while? A while Kaycee?'' She bit her lip.

"Mom please?''

"Kaycee you don't bring some homeless friend to the house and ask if she can stay for a while,'' her mom shook her head.

"You ask if she can stay and become apart of the family forever,'' her mom's face change into a sort of botoxed grin.

"Really mom, you mean it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You won't regret it, Ava here is an amazing daughter, she is good as gold unlike me,'' Kaycee grinned kissing her mom and pulling me into the house.

"She best be, unlike you I don't need another wild child. Welcome to the house Ava, treat it like it was your old house,'' her mom smiled at me and slowly shut the door making her way out.

From that day on, papers were signed, bedroom decorators had come in and out the house and in the quick five months I was officially living their for good. My parents were no were to be found, but yet even if they were they held no responsibility over me no more, so legally Jim and Kim were my guardians. And over the four years this is what my family were the courts.

Present.

It was six in the morning, school didn't start until eight thirty, but yet I was always first up in the house. Kim was already at work and Jim hadn't come home that night, working over shifts until later in the afternoon, leaving just Kaycee, Tyler, Abigail and I. Since Abigail was only two, she would have her own personal nanny which to whom would not turn up until eight. And since it was a Monday it was Kaycees turn to drive Tyler to school, meaning if the nanny was to be late, which she was every week then I would have to be late to school again.

Brushing my long light brown honey hair, I quickly put it in a high pony and felt myself make my way downstairs. It seemed the maid Gabrielle was already in early today, being one of the younger and nicer maids the two of us got on pretty well.

"You're up early; I see again,'' Gabby smiled, bringing me a plate of pancakes. I gave her a weird look and she pointed to the kitchen, "Lilly got here early with me today, we knew you would already be awake so thought we would surprise you with some nice early food, since you don't get enough down you.'' Gabby was a small red head girl, twenty four years old, not quite making the end of high school not having enough money so decided to take on catering and cleaning for the courts, she had been here longer then I had, eight years to be exact, since she mentioned Tyler had just been born when she had arrived.

"Awe you didn't have to you know. But thank you anyway, this is really sweet and very yummy, I'll have to give my words to the chef herself when I see her,'' I smiled quickly eating it all up and going to the kitchen to clean it up.

"No you don't do that, you live here you so you should relax and we wait on you,'' Gabby said, puling the plate off me.

"That's very kind Gabby but I can manage, I may live here but I still have respect to clean up my own mess.'' It was just one of those things that bugged me here; we were waited on, like all the time. I liked to do things for myself, but they were the rules of the Court house.

"But we get paid to do that, you don't,'' she shook her head, taking the plate to the kitchen.

Shrugging I decided to not argue with her, and made my way to the front room to watch a bit of morning Glee before anyone in the house woke up.

It was eight o clock before Kaycee finally woke up, her hair all over the place, with little Abigail in her arms. Tyler had woken up around seven and was just silently in the corner of the room playing his Nintendo.

"Oh my god, it's eight o clock and school starts soon and I have to meet Brad in like ten minutes,'' she screeched, passing Abigail to me.

"Brad? At this time? You know you have to take Tyler to school today,'' I said, bouncing Abigail on my knee.

"Yeah see that's the problem, I can't cancel on Brad, come on Ava you know how hot he is, he's the star quarterback he won't give me a second chance,'' she groaned. Brad was her, how would we explain it. 'Friends with benefits, kind of boyfriend slash kind of not boyfriend'

"And you want me to take Tyler to school don't you?'' I said, not slightly shocked. It was the sixth time in the last two weeks, which really meant that she had not taken him at all for two weeks straight. It didn't really bother me about taken Tyler he was a good kid their were no problems, but it always came to a result where I was late and it was something that would stay on my record permanent my head teacher said if I didn't start to get it right and I was a good kid, I got straight A's and B's except this put a downer on my college applications, which were only a year away.

"How did you know. Look please, it's the last time I ask you to do me a favor. I just cant keep letting Brad down or he's going to go after that skank Emily and you and me both know if she gets with him she will make both of our lives hell.'' Nodding my head, I just agreed remembering the time when Kaycee helped me out, little things like this wouldn't hurt to repay her.

Ten minutes had gone and Kaycee had flew out the door, already speeding in her red sports car. Looking at the time I saw again the Nanny was late, per usual and if she didn't come possibly soon I was going to end up missing not only registration but possibly first lesson. Also, Tyler was going to be late himself.

I waited- and waited. And eventually an hour had gone by but there was still no sign of her. Deciding that it would be best just to get Tyler into school, I decided to put the baby car seat in the car for Abigail and drove him taking Abigail with me. It took a total of twenty minutes to get to Tyler's school; the teachers weren't very pleased but understood the situation and left it there just happy he had turned up.

It was then I looked at the clock and found it was already nearly Ten o clock, first period had gone and flew by and yet I was still carrying Abigail in the backseat of my blue vw beetle (something that I had refused to have off the Courts but had been brought anyway since Kaycee did not want to be my personal driver).

Fidgeting in the front of the wheel, I started to panic. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't go to school with Abigail, yet I couldn't leave her alone at the age of two. I started to drive and let the car take me where ever, that was until Abigail started to cry.

"Hungwy,'' she cried, screaming even louder. I didn't know what to do and to make things worse the rain started to pour down making it harder to see through the windows that were fogging up.

"Shhhh, Abby. Everything is going to be okay, just stop crying okay?'' She looked at me with her big jade eyes and stopped, well for a second then she started again. "This is why they hire nannies,'' I mumbled to myself completely not focusing on the road. Which to then led to a car beeping at me, and Abby crying even louder.

I finally got home, the storms still bad. Carrying Abigail and cooing her to be calm, I walked to the front entrance forgetting any of the other surroundings and just hitting my hey into the door. When the door finally opened, I went straight to the kitchen, finding some fruit in the fridge for Abby who was still screaming.

"Abigail, please just for a second. Look I'm getting you food, see?'' It was then that I heard someone else enter the room and it couldn't be Jim or Kim because they were both at work, freezing still I knew the first person who had to be safe in a position like this was Abby, getting my jacket I pulled it off me and put it around her.

"Now what the hell do you think you're doing?'' The voice spoke. I turned around in time to be met with a stranger; a beautiful blue eyed one at that.
