A/N: So... yeah I started a new story without having actually updated my other one, sorry to those of you that were actually waiting for that. lol. It's probably going to go on hiatus REAL SOON. Anyways, this is pretty much the prolouge to my latest project which is what I would consider a collection of oneshots detailing what happens when one girl meddles in the lives of her friends. First chapter should be up later this night since it's almost done. And sadly, that chapter alone is longer than my whole other story. lol. Anyways, this is just to set up the idea for the oneshots, and I SWEAR that the actual story is good. Anyways, stay tuned for that chappie. Till later.... Enjoy
Once upon a time, there lived a girl that had hit a dry spell. In fact it was more like a drought. A nonexistent love life, a lack luster job and a cat as the only thing to keep her company were what she woke up to every morning. Yeah, that girl is me. The name's Elizabeth but you can call me Liz for short and I'm determined to make sure that my friends at least get the chance to experience love. Because let's admit it… it's a wonderful thing. And each and every one of them could have it if they just weren't so stubborn and took a chance. So I've devised this little plan… You see, I'm going to have a party. Not just any party though, oh no. It's something I've been working on for a while now, and let's face it; it's a little confusing so I'll try my best to explain it. Then again, it's always better to show then to tell. Anyways, there's going to be a party where hopefully all of my friends' dreams come true, at least for the night, and you never know. Mine may come true too.
It had all started one day last summer. I had decided to rent out a lake house for the weekend for a little R&R because the monotonous rhythm of my life had started to drain me. Of course I, never being one for solitude decided to invite some of my nearest and dearest friends. At least that's what I told them; because of course I had ulterior motives. It was the perfect setting for my little plan to be put into action, and as I started to unload my hatchback with the help of my friends, I dropped the bomb. You see, they thought that this was going to be a girl's weekend, fun in the sun, lighting bonfires and playing out on the boat, and staying up late into the night telling each other our deepest and steamiest desires. Silly them.
As I stepped onto the porch, I set down my things and turned back to my friends. "So, there's something I forgot to tell you guys about the sleeping arrangements for the weekend."
As my friends' response was blank expressions or looks of confusion I decided to elaborate. "Each of you will have a roommate, and no it won't be one of the girls standing beside you." More confused looks were tossed my way as the girls finished unloading the rest of the supplies from the vehicles. Finally, my best friend spoke up with the obvious question of, "If it's not one of the girls, who on Earth are we sharing this beach house with?"
My response was to just smile and walk away… yeah I like to keep them in suspense. But in my defense, if I had told them right then and there, they probably would've hopped back in their cars and left straight away.
As they followed me into the house, we set our things down and started dividing up the chores to get the house ready for the weekend. As one by one they separated, I was thankful that none of them decided to ask any more questions concerning our other guests, they'd find out soon enough. But first things first, as soon as our set up was done, it was time for some partying!
As the day progressed into night, the girls and I decided that the lake was the perfect place to start off our trip and so we spent the remaining hours of daylight playing in the water and tanning on the shore, even though some of us were lathered up in SPF 100. But once the sun set and night began to descend it was time to head in, and what a surprise they would get. For you see, as each girl headed up to the rooms they'd be staying in, they were greeted with none other than what I believed to be their perfect match.
