Notes: I actually like Twilight, so this is all in good humor. What I don't like is the obsessive behavior, but that's neither here nor there (what does that expression mean, anyways?). I do think the books are good, though.

Vampire Weekend

"Say it…out loud…"

I bit my lip. "Vampire…" I whispered.

He stepped out of the shadows, his eyes looking almost red. His skin gleamed pale white in the moonlight… "Yeah, that's all I wanted, so you can go now," he said, smiling wide enough that I could see his fangs.

I was flabbergasted. "Seriously? You kidnapped me and brought me to a secluded forest, scaring me almost to death because I thought I was going to die…to reenact a Twilight scene? Really?" I was getting kind of mad now.

The vampire held up a hand defensively, his nails looking sharp and deadly. "Woah. Let's calm down now—"

"Calm down?!" I yelled furiously. I was extremely bad at keeping a hold of my temper. "Listen buddy, don't expect me to calm down. You know what? I thought somebody was going to die here tonight, and I think someone definitely is." I curled my hand into a fist and stepped towards him.

He took a step back, looking scared. "I'm sorry, okay?" he said nervously. "It's just always kind of been a dream of mine, and I'm a huge Twilight fan—"

I stopped. "You're a what?" I hissed, my eyes flashing.

"A Twilight fan? Oh my god—" he said when he saw that I was drawing my fist back. He closed his eyes and threw his hands up in front of his face protectively. "I'm so sorry! Please, I'll never do it again! Oh my god—"

And just as my fist was about to hit his face, all the anger drained out of me, and my hand dropped. Now I was just tired. "It's fine," I said, sighing. I sank down onto a nearby rock. "Don't worry about it."

The vampire dropped his hands from his face, and looked at me. Then he swiftly moved and sat down beside me, his black cape rustling as he shifted to get comfortable on the rock.

His eyes downcast, he asked, "Are you okay? Was it something I did?"

I ran my fingers through my hair, frustrated. "No. Well, actually, yes. But it's not just you."

"What is it then?"

I sighed. "It's the neck-bitings in the hallway. It's the random Edward impressions during class. It's the boys taking off their shirts every five seconds to show off their recently earned 8-packs—though, now that I think about it, I don't mind that one so much. But still! I'm just so tired of it all." I put my head in my hands.

The vampire patted me on the back awkwardly, and when I looked at him, his eyes were apologetic. "I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't know."

I shrugged my shoulders. "It's fine. I'm probably just jealous, honestly. I've never loved someone 'more than everything else in the world combined'. I've never even kissed someone with so much intensity that 'blood boiled under my skin, burned in my lips'. It's sad, I know."

"Really," he said.

Something in his voice had changed. I glanced at him sharply. "What? What is it?"

He shook his head. "Nothing. I was just…I was thinking there was something I wanted to try." He leaned in closer to me, and brushed a strand of hair away from my face. I raised my eyebrows. What the hell is he doing? I thought. He looked into my eyes. Then he closed them, and kissed me, softly. Oh. Duh, I thought. And then, So this is what it's like to kiss a vampire…Oh my god. Bella was so not exaggerating. Then I kind of stopped thinking.
