Heart's Melody

Listen and sing unto me.

I long to truly

See

The song I hold within myself,

Those notes no one can

Hear.

The song I choose to sing

Is a broken melody

Coming from a tone deaf

Ear,

From one afraid to try.

Told too many times my voice

Is not one we should

Hear.

Still the notes strain within,

Seeking to be

Free,

Wishing I would listen to them,

Turn away from faithless lies,

And listen to my

Heart.

I am afraid of my inner song,

Frightened by what it may

Reveal.

Those hidden stories I've never told,

The ones no one will

Hear.

The notes insist I trust myself,

Not the world in which I

Live,

For only God can judge me.

His Truth is all I need to

Hear.

This melody locked within my soul

Will one day be set free.

Until that time, that blessed

Day,

It's safe within my

Heart.
