Author's Note
This has been one of my favorite stories. I hope that everyone enjoyed it. I will be taking some time off to edit this one for publication. I've waited a long time to find a story of this caliber. I do intend to write more adventures for Eddie and her friends. I hope that at that time you will all join me for the fun.
I hope that some people have a chance to visit Greenville, ME. It's a very unusual place that inspired me to write about it. The people are fabulous there. I didn't use real people in this story, although I did use real places. I have no reason to believe that the people who run the enormous timber company in that quarter of Maine are anything other than perfectly normal people who know a lot about trees. They also are not named Swain.
