Life had a colour-

Plural, perhaps,

Because really, when

Did life ever have

Just one colour?

Life had colour;

Life had reason;

The reason certainly

Wasn't the colour, but

They were connected

Nonetheless.

The day the colour left

However,

Is certainly connected to

The day the reason left;

That day, ironically, was also

The day I saw the last of you

And then the colour began to fade

The reason didn't matter

Because I was left

In a world with

No colour.
