Chapter 18.5
Extra
Profiles – Shou and Tsubasa; Magic 103: The Wizard and the Elements
Hello there! This is mjinx and its Extra time! Weeeeh. Another special chapter for those who stuck with Wand from the very start. This story is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay far from being finished, but a very BIG THANK YOU for everybody, now that Wand has reached its 100 reviews and 2400 plus views. It's certainly an achievement for me!
Ahem, now for this extra. Down below are the profiles for Shou and Tsubasa, the sibling duo who are complete opposites. You haven't seen them fight yet, but you'll soon witness their powers in the next few chapters. Next we have Magic 103, which discusses the Elements, an important concept in the magic system in Wand.
Really, this story had become a big part of who I am. That's why I'll keep on writing till the very end! Adieu for now, my beloved readers! ^_^
CHARACTER PROFILES:
Konta Shou
Age: 16
Hair: Short tidy brown hair with no bangs
Eyes: Black
Appearance: Short and slender; a bit weak-looking; a bit dark skin tone
Personality: Friendly but too serious, can't take a joke, easily tensed and irritated, very pessimistic, observant, very analytical
Birthday: December 24 (Capricorn)
Powers: Powerful Wind-based Conjuration Magic; some Alchemical Magic (Potion)
Element: Wind
Likes: Studying, magic, intelligent discussions
Dislikes: Sports, Tsubasa's antics, bullies
Information: Sora's classmate and the Class President of Class 1-A. He's close with Hikaru, although they have very opposing behavior and hobbies. Shou is an unprecedented genius, much like Shiori. He is an Infinite Caster and his Casting Article is his breath. Though Infinite in nature, Shou can be like a Finite Caster if he runs out of his breath. He blows dangerous and strong winds to his enemies, sending them flying most of the time. Shou's Wand is his elder brother, Tsubasa. Shou is also the Head of the Sciences Committee of the Student Council and the President of the Chemistry Club.
Notes: So, we have Shou-kun. He's a bit stuck-up, but he's definitely smart. He also won't take no for an answer. His very serious personality is a deep contrast to Tsubasa's silly one, making them some sort of a yin-yang. But for reasons unknown, I find Shou cute, personally. Haha. But anyway, we'll see a lot of Shou in the next few chapters, so just keep on reading. Also, his name means "Sky", which is related to his Wind-based powers. ^_^
Konta Tsubasa
Age: 18
Hair: Very untidy long brown hair with lots of bangs
Eyes: Blue
Appearance: Very tall; athletic build; dark skin tone
Personality: Happy-go-lucky, a bit impulsive, goofy, likes to joke around and say useless things, a big tease, good-natured but scary when provoked
Birthdate: May 31 (Gemini)
Powers: Flight Magic and brute force
Element: Wind
Likes: Sports especially soccer, having a good time
Dislikes: Studying, bullies and delinquents
Information: A third year student of Azimura High School and Shou's elder brother. He likes to crack jokes all of the time, which irritates both Shiori and Shou. Although he lacks seriousness, he's definitely determined when fighting. As his younger brother Shou's Wand, the Pegasus, Tsubasa has the rare ability of Flight magic. Aside from that, he's also a talented fighter, which complements his Wizard's weak durability. Tsubasa is also the Head of the Athletic Committee of the Student Council and the male soccer team's captain.
Notes: Tsubasa and his antics. *sigh* His personality screams free-spirited, just like a feather in the air, as Po had quoted in one chapter. I guess the past chapters already said a lot about Tsubasa and I won't add too much about it. It's funny to note, however, that even though he's the older one, he gets scolded a lot by Shou. But the brothers have quite a bond; you'll see in the next arc. But anyway, his name means "Feather", if you didn't know yet. ^_^

The Wizard and the Elements
An Excerpt from Professor Janus Leighton's book Mastering Magic
An important concept that an aspiring Wizard should acquaint himself with is the Elements. The Element is the driving force that sustains life in everything. They are the very foundations of the world and enables it capability to produce and maintain life. There are twelve distinct kinds of Elements and all will be discussed in this section.
First are the most basic Elements, which are also known as the Primary Four. They are also known as the Classical Elements of Magic. These are the Elements of Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. Many Wizards exhibit the power to use the Primary Four, but only a few could say that they truly mastered the Element.
Next in line is the Secondary Three. Less common than the Primary Four, but these Elements are quite rare. The Secondary Three includes the Elements of Wood, Steel and Sound. These Elements are known to be the result of a combination of two or three of the Primary Four, hence the name, Secondary Three.
The Sun Duo is a prominently curious duet of Elements. Composed of the Elements of Light and Shadow or sometimes known as Darkness, it is created upon the existence of the Sun. Those who control these Elements are quite rare, because of the Element's inherent intangibility. Aside from that, these two forces are constantly battling each other, where one would not exist if the other is there. Consequently, one could not be created without the other. The relationship between these two Elements is one of the greatest mysteries of Magic. It is rumored that a person who can control both Light and Darkness has the power equivalent to a God.
The last three Elements are called the Nether Triad. It is safe to say that these three Elements are the rarest and most mysterious among the twelve. The Nether Triad consists of the Elements of Time, Spirit and Void. Only a few Wizards and fewer Wands were able to exhibit competence in these Elements. The dangerous nature of these Elements also limits those who practice it.
By birth, a Wizard's Element is chosen, through his or her parents' Elemental affinity. An ordinary human's Framework and their compatibility to the Elements is also determined by birth, but it is much more variable. Just like his Casting Article, a Wizard's Element cannot be changed by any means and thus, is very important. So, readers, remember that:
"Your Element is your friend, that will be with you till the end."
