Authors note: I hope you like this story. It's just something I dreamed up in English class, but I think it's pretty good.
A Goggles Adventure!
Sooo… dryyy… Thank goodness! Marina is here, and she's in her swimmers! Yes!!! Marina is pulling my strap over her hair and into the correct position. She starts walking; I can see the pool… splash! The sensation of the cool water soothing my dry straps, my lenses, my tighteners, felt amazing. I can see Marin going up for some air. That's so annoying, the fact that she can only hold her breath for a little while. It cuts back on my underwater time, What on earth does that silly girl think she's doing, getting out of the pool already?! I haven't had nearly enough time, what about meeee, wha haaa. Wait, wait, why is Marina putting me in my case? She never puts me in my case. I'm getting sold, I just know it! As Marina pulled my lid shut, I silently said goodbye to the only place I could call home.
Nooo, light, to bright, need more water, life over… Marina? Suddenly, I was acutely aware that the girl who was picking me up was most certainly not Marina. "Hello goggleth, I'm Prithillia, and I'm going to swim wit you!" The girl said. She appeared to be around three years old, which was very, very bad. It specifically said on the front of my box 'Not suitable for children four years or under' Oh oh, she's pulling my strap into… OW!!! The nerve of that girl, how dare she slap my strap my strap down? This was going to hurt. I'd better zone out for this particular swim.
The next thing I knew, I was back in my box, but I could faintly hear that girl, Prithillia, complaining to her mum that I was painful. She's got it wrong, so completely wrong! Luckily, that may mean that I would be sent home to Marina! It had better be because I won't be able to take much more of this abusive treatment! "Well dear, maybe there's an explanation on the box," The girl's mother said. Finally. "Oh my! Priscilla, you should not be using these goggles. We must take them back!" Score! They're actually taking me back home.
"I'm sorry, but we need a refund, because my daughter is too young for these goggles," The weird girl's mum said apologetically. "But of course! My daughter has been missing them. It turns out they are her favorite goggles, not these ones," Marina's mum held up some old withered goggles. Although I felt sorry for those old goggles, I felt a surge of pride at being called Marina's favorite goggles.
"Marina… Your goggles are back!" Marina's mum called. Marina rushed out, all red in the face from running, and started jumping up and down. "Thank you for getting them back, mum!" She said breathlessly. I knew I would have to steel myself for the time when I too would be like the old, withered, unloved goggles I had just seen, but right now I was swelling with pride, and couldn't think of sad things like that. I realized I would probably have a happier time than the other goggles because I was Marina's favorite. That thought made me feel better and just enjoy the reunion swim!
