AUTHOR’S NOTE: This poem was written some 12 – 13 years ago, as was much of my other poetry. My state of mind at the time was far different than what it is today. I think I was more into my “dark” phase!
And lo, there did appear,
On the dwindling horizon,
Death, in all of her fury.
The souls of the damned
Cried in ecstasy,
As the scythe felled wheat.
The glowing hot grin
Of Satan, that devil,
Burned in the night sky.
The joy felt by him,
As mankind’s folly
Opened wide the doors for him.
And the Bible was cast,
Away from Eden,
Just as man was.
That old serpent hissed,
As his kingdom formed,
Not by his, but by the hand of man.
