I hate poems.
They expose the joy I lack.
When I want to run away,
I just keep coming back.
I hate poems.
They twist my words around.
When I mean to say "I hate you,"
"I love you" is how it sounds.
I could learn to love poems
And the thoughts that they construe,
If, and only if,
They lead me straight to you.
