It Came Without a Price (I Thought)

_ _

All I wanted was you,

I thought.

All I wanted was to never be lonely.

I thought

that's what I was getting.

I thought

you were the one,

I thought.

But you were nothing like I've ever seen.

I thought

your darkness was imagined.

I thought

I was paranoid.

I thought

you were perfect.

I thought

you were worth giving up everything for, that's what

I thought.

I was wrong, I know now.

I thought

I was happy.

I thought

I knew what I was getting, but apparently everything comes with a price. Because

I thought

you would sweep me off my feet and take me away,

I thought,

but I was wrong- all you did was take me away.

I thought

you were more important than my friends, my family.

I thought

I could live without them.

I know

I was wrong,

I know

your mind is sick,

I know

know that what I thought was my good luck is nothing but things

I didn't think

through.
