I've got a handful of words
dressed up as apologies

And I heard one time
that it's easy to revere in absentia
but I'm prone to distraction

So I may as well toss away my thoughts
skip them across the surface like smoothed stones
and surrender it all to the tides

And there's something comforting about the fact that
even a wave will always
come back to me
