my fingers are erasers
with star-shaped tips
and they scrub at anger
until the guilt is exposed
as a car rid of filth and rust.
I spit on and weld with
gaunt rubbery fingers until
two minds merge as one.
a month later, separated,
molecules split and atoms
vanish screaming 'fuck,
I'm empty.' to a universe
which didn't listen.
