a verse for truth

one more verse for
rearrangements
you strum your chords,
I stretch my cords

a bridge to learn -
stuck in mid-air,
but we went onto
the next verse 'cause

you passed this impasse
and I reluctantly stepped
across as the memories
danced between notes

could we repeat this
rhythm or must we
take cover in our covers
I knew this was true:

the moment that you
struck the last chord,
the song would never
remain the same

a/n: for k and to 13 years of friendship
