3 years old BestFriends
"Hey! Are yow the neiw kid that mobed next door?" Three year old Rosemary asked to the beautiful caramel haired boy in front of her playing with a soccer ball on the street, in front of her house.
"Yes. Mamma and Papa had to change jobs so we moved here," the boy pointed at the house beside hers after stop playing with his soccer ball and replied back smiling.
Rosemary looked at the smiling little boy flashing the cute little dimple on his left cheek at her and smiled herself. "What is yow name? I want to be fwiends wit yow."
"My name is Alexander Joshua. What is yours," the blue eyed boy asked back still smiling.
"My name is Rosemary Maria. Can I call yow AJ?"
"Sure, and I can call you Rosemaria" the boy replied.
Rosemary smiled, liking the nickname her new friend has given her. She came closer to the boy and asked, "Can I play wit yow?"
"Sure, I can teach you if you don't know how to play." The boy suggested.
Rosemary nodded and they started playing until it was time for both of them to go. They both ran towards their houses which were right beside each other. Before they parted ways, Rosemary reached Alexander's hand and held it while smiling at him. "Yow are a good boy. We will become good best fwiends."
Alexander just smiled, hearing his new friend's words. He leaned down and kissed her cheek before whispering in her ear, "Good night best friend!"
And that's how Rosemary and Alexander's friendship began at the age of 3.
Grade 1.
"Haha no one likes you because you are ugly," said one of Rosemary's classmates mockingly.
Rosemary tried so much to hold the tears in but failed unfortunately, letting out the traitorous tears. She never understood why her classmates made fun of her. They have been calling her names since she and Alexander started their first grade. And the worst thing was that they never do it while Alexander is around. When he is around, they act like they like Rosemary and always fake smile at her. Once Alexander is gone, that's when they start their torture.
Rosemary wiped away her tears and tried to get up from the floor that she was pushed by one of the girls in her class but the same girl pushed her hard again before Rosemary got up. "You are nasty. No one likes you! No one will marry you in the future. You will be all alone. Go die you ugly," the girl who pushed Rosemary said while everybody laughed at Rosemary.
Rosemary closed her eyes when she fell down but for some strange reason the hard floor didn't hurt her. In fact the thing that she was pushed at was too soft to be a floor so she opened her eyes slowly to realise that she is in the arms of no other than Alexander. And from the way he was looking at her she could tell he was sorry and angry.
Alexander helped Rosemary stand still due to the fact that her body was trembling all over, and held his best friend's hand. He looked at the kids who stopped laughing when he came and told them, "Rosemary is not ugly. She is more beautiful than any of you girls. She is not nasty. She will never be alone because I'm her best friend. I like her. Aand when we grow up I will marry her."
To say Alexander was mad was an understatement. He was furious at how his best friend was being treated by these people. He looked at Rosemary, gave her a sad smile then held her hand to lead her outside.
Rosemary managed to smile at Alexander, thankful for being her best friend. She followed Alexander outside of classroom holding his hand tight.
Once they were outside she stopped, making Alexander stop as well. She looked at him, eyes still full of now unshed tears. She hugged him tight, stepping on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek and say, "Thank you for standing up for me and being my best friend."
10 years old, at Rosemary's Birthday Party
"Come on AJ, I have to show you something," said Rosemary dragging Alexander with her to their favourite spot at the park: the swings. She automatically sat on one of them, knowing Alexander will come behind her to push her as high as possible. Sure enough he did and started push Rosemary as harder as he can.
"Higher AJ, higher!" Rosemary squealed through giggles of pure pleasure and joy. "It's my birthday remember? You promised. Did you forget your promise?" Rosemary asked Alexander, knowing full enough he will push her harder so she can go as high as to reach the sky.
Everything was perfect on Rosemary's special day. All of her family and friends came to her party, brought her lots of gifts. Though she loved everything, the most important thing that made this day special for her was the fact that this beautiful caramel haired, blue eyed boy was right here with her and will always be her best friend. She loved Alexander so much and now that they were at an age to understand some things, she realized that her feelings towards Alexander are even much more than just being best friends. She wanted to be with Alexander forever and didn't want him to ever leave her. Rosemary was so deep into her thoughts that she did not notice her swing being stopped by Alexander. When the swing fully stopped, she turned back to face a sad looking Alexander.
"What's wrong?" Rosemary asked Alexander, getting slightly worried now.
"Uhm Rose, you know I love you right?" Alexander asked a very confused and worried Rosemary.
"Of course I know that. I know that you will always be there for me."
"Uhn... Yeah, about that-"
"I know that you will always look out for me and always be my side when i need something or someone."
"Rose-"
"Always make me smile with your goofiness and always be my side no matter what."
"Rose-"
"And I know that you will never ever, ever leave me-"
"ROSEMARIA!" Alexander yelled at Rosemary making her flinch at his sudden outburst. "I'm leaving."
Sameday/At the airport
"Please don't cry anymore my sweet Rosemaria." Alexander tried to reason with Rosemary but it was no use. She had been crying ever since this afternoon when he told her that he was leaving.
Rosemary sniffed. Her eyes were all bloody from all that crying. Alexander wiped the tears off of her face with his thumbs and kissed her for head.
"We will leave soon... I, I want you to know that I promise." "I will always call you and talk to you every day once we settle down. I'll send letters or e-mails to you. I will video chat with you every day until you get sick of me," Alexander reassured his beautiful best friend who's head was tilted up so that she can see look at him in the eye. "I promise I will never forget you, and most importantly I will NOT forget my promises."
