As I closed my eyes last night

Your face was all that came to view

And I wished I stayed in that moment longer

Because at least in my dreams, I was with you.

I never want to stop dreaming

And I doubt that I ever will

Because it's the only way I can hold you

And say that I love you still.

However all my dreams end

With the same sad thought:

That you would never be mine again

No matter how hard I fought.

If you'd just give me the chance,

I'd be most willing to tell you

That although I had to let go of your hand,

A day never passed without me thinking of you.

Now I envy her for being the new reason

For that coy smile of yours.

But remember I'll be waiting by my window,
