Butterflies and Rainbows
They seem like such
Happy things, but really
They are hiding.
Hiding from the world,
Hiding from themselves.
They hide because
They are supposed to.
They are supposed to be
The ones you think of
When you have nightmares,
They are supposed to be
The ones that cheer you
Up when you are down.
But what if they don't?
Then the whole world
Knows their secret, knows
That they are not what they
Seem to be. That, my friend,
Will be when the world ends.
