Useless Pride and Excuses

The care and concern were masked-
with a devilish smile and intentions murderous.
Deceiving you was never intended,
I just held on to my foolish and useless pride.

I stabbed those plush toys you loved,
whispered sweet nothings dripping with poison.
Told you to rely on no one but me-
you're the brother I loved so much.

The reasons I became the devil;
which did cruel and remorseless acts.
It was only because of you!
I did everything for you- but that's just...

an excuse, isn't it?
