A+ A- |
Just a really short blurb inspired by a dream I had (which actually had to do with another story I'm writing, so this can almost be considered a spin-off preview). It's not as dark as what I usually tend to write, but still sort of bittersweet.
Warnings: Slash—it's invisible, but I intended it as two guys. Almost-fluff. Cheesy-ness.
"I love you."
Silence. You smile a little, but nothing more. I sigh.
"Why don't you ever say it?"
Leaning back, you eye me strangely. "What?"
"You never tell me you love me."
"You know how I feel. Why does it matter?"
"Because you never say it. How can I be sure?"
Silence again, prolonged. You roll your eyes but continue to half-smile.
"Am I just not good enough for those three words?"
Sitting upright again, your hand finds mine. Interlocked fingers and an expression resembling reassurance.
"No, those three words just aren't good enough for you."
Sorry it's so brief, but it called for simplicity. Reviews appreciated.~
