A blade of grass

It's such a simple thing

Growing strong and tall

Pushing toward the sky

Fighting for its life

Only having one goal,

Wanting to be the

Tallest of the tall

But on the inside,

It knows that

It will never be the best

No matter how much it tries,

It won't be good enough

It knows that

It doesn't matter how green it is,

It will never be bright enough

But it still stands straight,

Not letting any of that

Get it down

Because it knows that

It is the best
