Everyday is a show,
A masquerade
A game.
Because I'm never myself
Never real
Never me.
I have a variety of masks
For school
For home.
They're each different according to who I'm with
My friends
My mom
I put them on for different reasons
To get along
To survive.
Because without them I'd be different
Alone
Lost
Because that would be the me without the masks
Without the coverings
Without the fake
But I wear my masks for you
My "friends"
My family
I put up with you people by shutting myself away
In corners
In closets.
It's how I've lived my entire life
Behind masks
Behind lies
And it's how I deal with everything
By hiding
By lying
For what reason?
To survive?
To fit in?
Because if that's the case, what's wrong with the world?
