Wash Away My Sins

Ignorance is everywhere, it clouds up your view
It makes you unable to see the world around you.
This is what's been my case,
I've been struck blind,
As if someone used mace
On my eyes.
Everything I have seen
Turned out to be lies
And now when I could finally see
The world is not as happy
As it appeared to be.

There are people out there
Who are being killed
For standing up for their religion
because it's not here
doesn't mean we shouldn't care
because it's pass our sights
Doesn't mean we should shut out the lights
People are being treatly unfairly on the other side
Of the world, and yet we just sit
Are we people, or are we savages?
We need to open our eyes wide
And see what's going on in front of us
Instead of complaining and making a fuss
About what we've got, and what we wish
We need to do more.

Everywhere in this wonderful world of ours,
There's people living in poverty,
Boxes spread on sidewalks,
Signs pleading for help,
Hungry children tending our food stocks,
Bad sanitation; lice crawling on scalp,
And people dying
Calling for our help
But we don't seem to care
pleads pass out one ear
To the next
What happened to everyone
Being sister and brother
To one another?
Have we changed so much
That we don't care if people suffer?
Why don't the faces at risk touch
Our hearts?
Why don't we help people make
New starts
Instead of being greedy,
And always wanting to take?
Why are youth today so young, ignorant, and fake?
People say they'll get old
And realize they should have went with their hearts
Instead of listening to the negatively they were told.

God wash away my sins
Under the fresh river water.
I realize not everyone wins
In life, because it's like gambling, people play
And don't win,
But always come back again.

God wash away my sins,
Under the fresh river water
For I've heard their pleas
With my mother beside me.
I saw a man fall to his knees
With a sign begging to me
But we pretended not to see.

I plead guilty to you,
Now use me to do some good.
I really hope to,
Go make a change in a place
that no one else would.

Give me the strength to carry on your plans,
Give me the money to go to new lands.

God if you wash away my sins,
I promise I'll do something better
For this world.

God if you wash away my sins,
There'll be a new tomorrow,
With more happiness and way less sorrow.

People I will gather to
Help me with my world goals,
And we will honour you,
In all that we do.

We will make a change;
We will make a difference
We will accept the strange;
We will accept that all of us are different
We will use it all to
Our advantage, and show you
That the youth truly care
then from heaven you could stare
Down at us,
And not make a fuss.

We will make you proud
We will protest your glory out loud
God wash away my sins
And there'll be a new world
Where almost everyone wins.
