Once, not forever

Our hearts were gold.

But now as it lingers,

My body goes cold.

I said leave me never,

Together, we'll grow old.

At the touch of your gentle fingers,

My heart was sold.

But soon that would crash,

Turn my heart into ash,

And shatter the glass

Of our fragile past.

I loved you, I need you

But, why, I can't say.

The words, what they'd do...

They'd ruin this day.

I will not admit it.

My life it would take.

To say the words

That make my smile fake.

I won't say my feelings.

At least not out loud.

That's my way of dealing,

Keep my head in the clouds.

And if I avoid it,

Nothing will stop it,

Let it slip from my mind.

Leave it all behind.

Don't think of you.

If it's the last thing I do,

I'll forget you, I promise.

My hurt won't prolong it.

I'll leave love alone.

And live and let die.

I'll suffer my own,

Never will I cry.

Just live and let me die.
