Curled tight in silence,

Beyond thoughts and words

I'm wishing things would never end.

Waking to a daydream,

Things so perfect they can't be real,

This caged-bird feeling in my chest

Brought on by joy, for once

As opposed to misery.

Soft eyes hid by shadows,

Warm still and waiting

Twined tight beside me.

Falling asleep unafraid
