Cascading bombs, the rain of pellets on open tin roofs,
a tear settling in an eye, whispering away the landscape,
earthshaking, breath-stealing, uncontainable panic.

Flooding horizons, inked in ashy black,
pinecone ribs protruding, torn sheaths of skin,
blood pouring from lesions and defeated dams.

Close your eyes,
you're nothing more than a silly child,
let's play this game.

You know the game, where your little, and if you close your eyes, the world just goes away and no one can see you?
