Who was in the wrong (part 3)

There was once a family. A dad who was the sole breadwinner of the household, a mother who would follow her husband to the ends of the earth, a son who's quite rebellious and a daughter with a shy and passive nature.

The father was once a great figure in the family. He worked hard to provide for his family, he slowly earned his money from scratch, putting a roof above everyone's heads. Obviously everyone was happy, dad cared about them all. He brought a nice house, gave everyone new clothes, and fulfilled everyone's wants and needs. Although he was strict and autocratic in his ways, everyone in the household respected him because he put his loved ones first before him.

Slowly and steady, they moved to a small simple house, then into a bigger one, eventually into a bungalow and finally into a mansion. Dad loved his lifestyle, being rich and living the lavish lifestyle. He slowly craved for more, earning millions of dough, keeping them all to himself. Everything old has to go because he wants a life of the future so he threw away most of what his parents gave him as a part of his inheritance. Greed also possessed the man, knowing that his children were working part-time, he crafted a perfect plan to earn more money from his kids. He started to confiscate their savings "until they are old enough to use them" and to also charge his kids to use the house amenities. The kids have to pay dad to sleep in their own rooms as well as charging them when they walked too much around the house, much to the utter dismay of his kids. His son and daughter wasted no time to complain to their mother, but she just shrugged it off and told the kids to endure. After all he gave everyone his everything in the past, at least the best they could do is to tolerate his nonsensical behaviour.

The dad always had a reputation out there, either good or bad. But it's mostly bad and to a certain extent, a joke. Years of "safe-keeping" the children's money and having to pay dad money to use things at home just made everyone mad. His son, who was a great dancer and performer, was in disgust that his father had never paid attention to his dreams and he never supported him onto whatever he was doing; instead he had to stay at home and tolerate crap and pay his hard earned money to that money sucker. One day he screamed in front of dad, yelling at him for all his misdeeds. That was really the last straw to the kid and he took off, he left the house and never looked back. He eventually became a very good performer.

Dad didn't even reflect and mend on his ways, he instead continued on. His shy daughter suffered the most, all she ever wanted was for dad to listen to her pleas, but to no avail. She could only complain to dad about what he did. He always assured her that he will change but it never happen. Mother couldn't even care less, believe in your father, after all he provide and worked hard for us when we had nothing, we should be grateful that he gave us his all. That was all she said.

One day out of the blue, dad started to invite tenants to live in his mansion which caused both mother and daughter to be worried. They are just here to live with us to help me earn more money, it's not such a big deal, Dad told them both. Some of the visitors were ok and they really helped out with the three of them (the family members) but the majority were just loud and rude. The house slowly turned into a pig-sty. They spat and littered wherever they want, they talked loudly in the middle of the night and had sex in any room they could find. These people were relentless and everywhere, risking the lives of both mother and daughter. Mum was made to slog her guts out to appeal to the other residences while the daughter was being tormented by those freeloaders living in her house at a regular basis. What did dad say? They are just here to make a living, the both of you should work hand in hand with our guest. Dad always took the vistor's children to school in the morning, but his little girl had to walk there all alone. As the days past, more and more people were being invited to live in the mansion and sadly both mother and daughter had to sleep outside to accommodate to the sheer amount of people living in their house.

Despite anything that has happened lately, dad's plan was actually working. His tenants which he employed were actually raking in some serious money. He used the money to refurnish the house to increase its status. However he gave back barely anything to his wife and daughter. His daughter was now mad at him. How could her dad do such a thing to his family members? She wanted mum to divorce dad right now and kick him away with his whole entourage of foreigners because dad simply didn't care for them anymore. She doesn't want money, she wants dad to care for mum and her once more but this was all too late, she had lost all hope on her money-obsessed father.

Despite what had happened, mother wasn't even shaken by all of this as she continued to support dad and his practices. While the both mum and child were out, they met a guy name Oliver. Oliver was a nice guy and immediately both women were getting into his good books. Mum soon fell in love with Oliver who made her feel alive once more. Oliver was a liberator and when mum told him about dad's oppressing methods, he was enraged by this. He wanted to marry her so that he could kick this sick person and all his bunch of foreigners out of the house so that peace could be restored back. Her daughter fully agreed.

Confronting dad with Oliver, mum had to make a choice between her husband who had gave her everything in the past but who is now too money minded for anyone or the man who wants to protect her and her daughter and make her feel like a woman once more. Mother unfortunately made the choice to stick with dad because after all, he did help all his loved ones in the past and it's unfair for her to leave him. Oliver was sad that she chose the wrong choice but he was willing to wait for her to make the right decisions. He now lives with the family, making sure that dad won't abuse anything or anyone and to also keep mayhem at bay. Dad is still full of himself and his money making ways.

A/N: This entire story is a metaphor to something which I express immense anger with.
