Okay, so, huge note. I was going to edit this story, but I've decided on a rewrite instead. But, mostly for my own amusement, I'm going to try to rewrite it as a bodice ripper. My very first trashy novel. I'll leave this version of the story up for the time being, because I know that some people liked this and may not enjoy it going from G to R for not good reason, but I'm warning mostly against the fact that the other version
will be rated M and will be nowhere near as tame as this story. Wouldn't want to offend anyone. But anyways, yes, that is all. This may be a bit rambly, but I want everyone fairly warned.
"Baby yet to see the world Baby yet to be boy or girl I shall take your heart in my hands And hold it there like iron bands Your heart shall freeze and turn to ice I warned your parents, warned them thrice Now you'll get them in my place You'll kill them, and until then I'll keep you safe Ice will flow through your veins until you're done You'll rule cruelly until you're twenty-one Unless your heart melts for love, not heat One your twenty-first birthday it will cease to beat" The fairy looked at the sleeping King and Queen. The Queen's hands were wrapped around her stomach, protectively cradling her unborn child. The fairy laughed at her handiwork, causing the King to stir. She snapped her fingers and turned invisible, drifting to the open window. "Dear, did you hear something?" the King asked, waking up his wife. "No," the Queen mumbled. "It was just a dream. Go back to bed." She shivered and pulled up the bedcovers. "I swear I heard someone," the King said. "Then call for the guards," the Queen said, shivering again. "No, that's alright." The King laid back against his wife and shivered himself. "Do you need the fireplace lit? You seem chilled." "I'm fine. Let's just go back to sleep." The fairy smiled as the couple drifted back to sleep. Yes, her spell would work. The King and Queen would have a child who'd try to kill them. Not try, but succeed. He'd rule the land cruelly until he turned twenty-one, at which point the fairy's spell would end his life. - This will be a novella. It will have about 6-7 parts. It's my version of Beauty and the Beast, as cliche as that is. There's also a bit of Sleeping Beauty thrown in. On another site I have this posted as 'Princess Janoah's Tale.' I just can't seem to find a good title, so don't be surprised if this one changes.
